An event for the trans community. There will be an introduction on the key learning and insights gained over seven years of working psychotherapeutically with the trans community, given by Anne Marie Toole, Director of Insight Matters. Following this, there will be a facilitated discussion where the community will be invited to share their experiences of psychotherapy, providing unique insight into this deeply personal and often unspoken terrain. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions on what constitutes best practice, evidence based approaches and how collaboration works between psychotherapists and clinicians/GPs within the broader healthcare field. It is an opportunity to share what approaches work well and what has been found by clients to be less helpful and supportive of them as they journey through therapy. The aim is that the session is as interactive and participatory as possible, to the benefit of all.
Insight Matters was founded in 2011 by social entrepreneurs Anne Marie Toole and Dil Wickremasinghe. They have a specialised team of therapists who provide trans affirmative and aware counselling and psychotherapy in an individual, relationship and group capacity.
